What's New

Savings opportunities are available to all 34 member colleges through OFIC’s collaborative programs, which enable these smaller, private colleges and universities to take advantage of cost savings usually available only to much larger institutions. OFIC member colleges and universities take a leadership role in determining collaborative efforts. OFIC serves as facilitator of programs after a level of member interest and potential cost savings or benefits have been determined.

OFIC currently offers the following cost-saving opportunities to members:

Group Purchasing
By negotiation agreements with individual venors and buying consortiums, OFIC provides member campuses with resources to reduce operating expenses. Current group buying partners are:

  • Northeast Ohio Sourcing Office (NEO | SO)
  • The Coalition for College Cost Savings (CCCS)

Individual vendor relationships have been established with:

    • AT&T Long Distance - long distance telephone service
    • AT&T Mobility - cell phone service, equipment & accesories
    • AT&T Connect - multimedia conferencing combining voice, web and video
    • JPMorganChase Purchase Card - card purchase rebate program
    • Microsoft - volume licensing of software
    • Staples - discount office supply purchase program
    • Turner Logistics - heavy MEP heating/cooling equipment
    • UPS - volume discount on shipping services

Diversity Initiatives
OFIC is committed to promoting diversity on its member campuses. This is accomplished by facilitating donor-funded Minority Student Recruitment and Retention programs and organizing diversity forums involving faculty, staff, and corporate donor representatives. These programs have proven to be successful in increasing the number of minority students attending and graduating from OFIC member colleges. The forums provide opportunities for campus diversity officers and corporate human resource representatives to shore and compare best practices regarding diversity issues on campus and in the workplace.

Career Services
OFIC connects employers with outstanding students and graduates by sponsoring an annual job fair, CareerFest, and putting businesses directly in touch with Career Service Directors from our member institutions.

Scholarship Management
OFIC's Scholarship Management Resources (SMR) program provides services for clients interested in outsourcing the management of their scholarship programs. Clients may include corporations, trusts, foundations, and individuals.
