About OFIC

OFIC's colleges and universities enroll more than 97,000 students or more than one-third of those pursuing baccalaureate degrees in our state. Since 1950, The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges has conducted annual solicitations of corporations and foundations on behalf of 35 well-established and well-respected institutions.

The Foundation's success is based on a corporate/education partnership that raises unrestricted funds and scholarships for member colleges so they can continue to provide learning opportunities for individuals of all ethnic and economic backgrounds.

Foundations and companies headquartered or doing business in Ohio support the campaign because their leaders recognize that independent institutions serve a diverse population; create a pool of potential employees and leaders; respond to key community issues, such as improving local K-12 education; provide continuing education and training for their employees; and assure the continuance of diversity in high-quality higher education.

The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges is a member of The Foundation for Independent Higher Education which represents 38 state and regional funds, 670 institutions of higher education nationwide with more than 1.5 million students annually.
