Careerfest 2008 Summary
The success and value of CareerFest is evidenced by its continuous growth. Forty-six Ohio-based employers attended the first year, 2002. CareerFest 2008, held at the Aladdin Shrine Center in Columbus, registered 124 employers – an increase of almost 300%.
The employers—businesses, corporations, non-profit groups,
and government agencies—and nearly 1,000 students came from all over Ohio to discuss
permanent employment and internship opportunities. Participating recruiters
rated this as one of the best events they attend all year. Many employers
and students are engaged in follow-up interviews.
"If you’re looking for high quality candidates who are professional and eager then the OFIC CareerFest is the place to be. Always an excellent turnout."
"Unbelievable variety of employers! Great place to start your job search! We’ll certainly be back."
"This was one; if not the best career fairs we’ve attended. The students were prepared to talk about their skills and interests. We walked away with dozens of qualified candidates for internships."
CareerFest 2009 is scheduled for February 6, 2009.
