Organizational Leadership Distributive Learning Program
Through the Collaborative Effort of The OFIC Institute
Offerings for Winter/Spring Starting January 2000
WHAT IS THE ORGANIZATIONAL
LEADERSHIP DISTRIBUTIVE LEARNING PROGRAM?
OFIC and seven independent colleges
have teamed together to offer working professionals further education in Organizational
Leadership via internet-based, asynchronous courses beginning January 2000 at
www.oficonline.org.
This is a high quality, learner-centered,
internet-based program that can be completed in six-week terms online.
CHARTER PARTICIPATING COLLEGES
- Ashland University
- Bluffton College
- Cedarville College *
- The University of Findlay
- Malone College
- Mount Vernon Nazarene College
- Wilmington College
* Cedarville is strongly committed to the use of technology to enable quality education.
The College specializes in campus-based programs and does not offer complete non-traditional
degree completion options. As a member of this web-based collaboration, the College offers
OFIC Corporate partners access to Cedarville programs and its students access to OFIC
collaboration offerings. OFIC collaboration students who qualify for admission to Cedarville
will receive course credit. Those who choose not to apply for admission to the College
will qualify for CEU credit.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
-
Top faculty from each college will provide innovative classes using current technology.
-
Each course counts as three transferable credit hours and can also be
applied to an OFIC certification.
-
The courses allow students to learn anywhere, anytime, interact with
faculty, corporate leaders, experts, and their peers via the Internet.
-
Independent colleges have a history of providing students with competencies
in critical thinking, communication, cultural awareness, ethics and values,
and problem solving. This program integrates these competencies into the
Internet-based curriculum.
Corporate partners will be asked to work with the OFIC Distributive Learning
Collaborative on course development and assessment. They will identify key employees
to provide guest lecturing via streaming video or audio, work with students on problem
based learning models from their own corporate experiences via e-mail or threaded
discussions, etc. Having key corporate employees available as resources for our faculty
and students will add a dimension of real work information and issues to our courses and
allow students to get first-hand knowledge in a variety of areas. Corporate Partners'
funding will be used to help defray the costs associated with hardware and software needed
to offer these courses using state of the art technology.
