Jeffrey S. Wolf Elected Regional Representative for the
Foundation for Independent Higher Education


Jeffrey S. Wolf, President of The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) has been elected Midwest Regional Representative for the Foundation for Independent Higher Education (FIHE). Wolf has been President of OFIC for nearly four years and is a board member for FIHE. In this volunteer capacity, Wolf will represent the interests of Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin. He is a native of Akron, Ohio and currently resides in Hilliard, Ohio.

FIHE, based in Washington D. C., was established in 1958 to broaden financial support of the independent colleges and their regional foundations across the nation. Through its network FIHE represents 667 colleges enrolling more than 1.5 million students.

The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges ranks first of all the state foundations in revenue generated and represents 35 member colleges, which enroll more than 94,000 students. OFIC was founded in 1950 by a group of business executives and college presidents to create a central organization working to garner support for Ohio’s independent colleges and thereby to strengthen the education system as a whole
OFIC has raised more than 120 million dollars for its member colleges and students since its inception and distributes nearly $4 million annually in scholarship and general operating support.

The member colleges are: Antioch College, Ashland University, Baldwin-Wallace College, Bluffton University, Capital University, Cedarville University, University of Dayton, Defiance College, Denison University, The University of Findlay, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Franklin University, Heidelberg College, Hiram College, John Carroll University, Kenyon College, Lake Erie College, Lourdes College, Malone College, Marietta College, Mount Union College, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Muskingum College, Notre Dame College, Oberlin College, Ohio Dominican University, Ohio Northern University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Otterbein College, Urbana University, Ursuline College, Walsh University, Wilmington College, Wittenberg University and The College of Wooster.
