New Trustees Elected for
The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges
at Fall Meeting Held at Denison University

October 26, 2004

At the Fall Meeting of The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC), held at Denison University, Robert G. Merzweiler, Board Chair and President & CEO of Landmark Plastic Corporation, Akron, announced the following new trustees:

C. Daniel DeLawder, President, Park National Bank, Newark
Mr. DeLawder has been President of Park National Bank since January 1994 and has been with the bank for more than 30 years. He is a graduate of Ohio University and currently serves on their Board of Trustees and the board of the Simon Kenton Council Boy Scouts of America. Park National is a $5 billion bank holding company headquartered in Newark, Ohio and is a 38-year donor to OFIC.

Fred D. Kidder, Special Counsel, Lubrizol Corporation, Cleveland
Mr. Kidder attended William and Mary College in Virginia and graduated with distinction from The University of Akron with a B.S. in business administration. He also earned an LLB degree from Case Western Reserve Law School. Since 1989, Mr. Kidder has served as special counsel for the Lubrizol Corporation. His many community involvements include serving on the board of trustees for the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Association and on the board of trustees for Lake Erie College.

George B. Milbourn, Chairman/President, Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, Cleveland
Mr. Milbourn was with Coe Manufacturing Company for 35 years and served as vice president and consultant to the company president from 1988 to 2000. He has been a trustee of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for the past 10 years and is currently their chairman and president. Other civic responsibilities include: United Way of Lake County, Lake County YMCA Board of Trustees, and the Lake County Foundation Board of Trustees.

Thomas H. Yu, Vice President, Maytag Corporation, Canton
Mr. Yu is Vice President with the Maytag Corporation. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University, M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, University of Rochester, MBA from the James Nance Business School, Cleveland State University, and Executive Management of Technology degree from the Weatherhead Business School, Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Yu has been with Maytag since 2000. He is presently on the Advisory Board of the University of Akron, Chemical Engineering Department and Engineering Advisory Board of Appliance Magazine.

OFIC, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, is the primary corporate and foundation solicitation organization for 35 independent Ohio colleges and universities. OFIC member colleges collectively enroll more than 94,000 students. For 54 years The Foundation has worked to highlight the leadership, value and excellence of independent higher education. Through contributions raised in annual solicitations of businesses and foundations OFIC has provided unrestricted operating funds and scholarship assistance, thereby assuring continuation of excellence in independent higher education. OFIC is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of Ohio’s corporate leaders, as well as presidents of the 35 member colleges.
