TOLEDO RESIDENT, RECIPIENT OF OWENS-ILLINOIS, INC. SCHOLARSHIP, PURSUING BUSINESS DEGREE AT LOURDES COLLEGE
Shana Marshall, from Toledo, Ohio is a senior at Lourdes College studying Accounting and Business Administration. She is the recipient of a scholarship from Owens-Illinois, Inc. through The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges’ Ohio Scholars Program.
Shana, a single-parent working a full-time job, made the decision to return to college to better not only her own but also her daughter’s future. Although she is certain that decision was a good one, she says that college requires a lot of hard work and is a real financial challenge. “Even though I was working full-time,” she wrote to her scholarship donor, “I still needed a considerable amount of help.”
Another good decision, Shana says, was her selection of Lourdes College. She highly recommends Lourdes to anyone serious about obtaining a college degree. “The class sizes are perfect,” she states, “and the faculty and staff are dedicated to helping the students succeed.”
“When I graduate in May 2009,” Shana writes, “I will have realized a dream. This scholarship is more than just money to me; it is a life-changing and inspiring experience and gives me a way to graduate college and better myself. I want the good people at Owens-Illinois to know how much this has meant to me.”
