OFIC Board Meeting: Featured Speaker
Navigating in the New Marketplace for Higher Education
Presented by Jon McGee, Author of Breakpoint
The interaction and oversight of mission, market and management in the context of economic, demographic, and cultural change.
Think of it as a triangle between:
1. The impact of changing economics
2. Changing demographics
3. Changing cultural values on colleges & universities in America.
These trends have independent and interdependent effects, which make them complex and challenging. No college will escape their effects, which requires them to think differently about their future and the way they operate.
Jon McGee is Vice President for Planning and Public Affairs at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in Minnesota. His management division includes marketing, institutional research, planning and state and federal government relations. His book, Breakpoint – The Changing Marketing for Higher Education, examines key forces of disruption in higher education.
Jon will be the OFIC keynote speaker at our afternoon Board meeting on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. In addition to university and college presidents, member campuses are encouraged to invite their VPs of Enrollment to hear Jon’s session.
