The Ohio Scholars Program

One of the largest and most diverse statewide scholarship management programs in Ohio.

The Ohio Scholars Program (OSP), thanks to donor partners - corporations, foundations, and individuals, provides scholarships for students. OFIC’s donor partners support college students from its 33 member campuses with scholarship, internship and full-time employment opportunities, creating connections to form a talent pipeline between recipients and their donors.

OFIC has created a simple process for donors to establish scholarship criteria to define their impact, while OFIC works with campuses to select the most qualified students that meet those guidelines for giving.  OFIC then monitors student progress and provides each donor with their scholar(s) information for awareness and/or outreach.

Top Ohio Scholars Program Donors

  • Corporations are making a strategic investment when providing a student(s) with funds to support their future. This is a great way to build relationships with possible future interns and or employees.

  • OFIC takes care of the student selection process so it is less hassle for donors. OFIC finds the most qualified student in the donor partner’s geographic region, as these donors appreciate their money coming back to the local economy, as most of these students tend to return after graduation to enrich their community.

  • Those who wish to see their scholarship forever make a difference can establish an endowment fund with a minimum gift of $25,000. OFIC‘s largest endowed scholarship is currently in excess of one million dollars.

OFIC and students are grateful for all of our generous donors. For a full list of donors, visit the honor roll page linked below.

How it Works

The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges helps to eliminate the stress and daunting task of managing a scholarship process through the Ohio Scholars Program.

OFIC ensures donors are involved with the selection and nomination process of students who fit the donor partner’s criteria including, geography, major, region, and financial need as determined by their campus.

Donor information is shared with the student recipient when the scholarship is awarded - opening doors for students to participate in donor partner internship and job opportunities.
