AmericaCorps Pilot Program

OFIC Welcomes an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer to Support New College Completion Pilot

There's always great energy on campus at the start of a new academic year, and OFIC is excited to add to it with some terrific news.

Back in the spring, OFIC announced plans to apply for the AmeriCorps VISTA program. We're thrilled to share that our application was approved. In the coming weeks and months, OFIC will welcome an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer to help support our new pilot program, From Undecided to College Completion.

A note on funding: This position is not an OFIC funded role. The AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer is provided and funded directly through AmeriCorps, a federal national service program. OFIC is proud to host this volunteer as part of our partnership with AmeriCorps in support of the pilot.

About the Pilot

This program brings OFIC together with select member campuses to build resources and support for students who are undecided about their career path or major. The goal is to strengthen first-to-second-year retention, with a particular focus on low-income and first-generation students.

We're grateful to the campuses that agreed to take part in this pilot alongside us, and to AmeriCorps for its support in making this collaboration possible.
