Non-Profit Summer Internship Program
Empowering Students Through Paid Summer Internships
Students already making a difference in their communities are continuing that work through funded summer internships, supported again by The Nord Family Foundation and Employers Health. Nord Family Foundation internships return to non-profits in Lorain County, while Employers Health funds opportunities across Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, and Wayne Counties.
These internships provide hands-on experience, professional growth, and real-world skills, while helping non-profits access dedicated talent—cultivating the next generation of nonprofit leaders across Ohio.

A look back at the 2025 internship celebrations
Last summer, OFIC hosted two celebration luncheons honoring students in its Non-Profit Internship Program. We gathered with Employers Health to recognize interns serving Stark County, followed by a second celebration with The Nord Family Foundation highlighting interns working in Lorain County. Both events brought together students, nonprofit supervisors, campus representatives, and funders to share experiences, express gratitude, and celebrate the impact these internships had on local organizations and communities.
Internships can change a student’s future, but many miss out due to limited opportunities.
OFIC’s Non-Profit Internship Program connects Ohio college students with hands-on summer roles at local nonprofits.
Students gain real-world experience across fields like marketing, IT, and HR while building strong resumes. The program also helps nonprofits grow talent, retain graduates in Ohio, and strengthen the workforce.
