OFIC Fall Trustee Meeting Talent Features
We were thrilled to visit Ashland University for OFIC’s Fall Trustee Meeting on October 15, where talent and student connections took center stage. Brandon Busteed, CEO of Edconic, joined us virtually to discuss the national gap between student demand and the availability of quality internships. He highlighted the importance of developing “Triple Threat” students, those who gain internship experience, complete long-term projects, and earn industry-recognized credentials.
After the presentation, we enjoyed lunch with four Ashland University OFIC student scholars, two of whom shared how receiving an OFIC scholarship has impacted their education and career goals. Full recap coming soon!
Students Visit First Solar
Students from Tiffin University and Ohio Northern University toured First Solar on September 19, connecting with Mike Koralewski, First Solar’s Chief Supply Chain Officer and OFIC trustee, and enjoying lunch with staff. As part of this experience, students also received early-bird consideration for summer 2026 internships at First Solar!
NOW LIVE - Financial Literary Bonus Module
The Financial Firsts module from TalentedU, featuring content from The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, is now LIVE! Students can explore lessons on money management, health insurance, health savings accounts, buying a first car, getting a loan, and more to help them prepare for careers and life after college.

Upcoming Events
As a reminder, join me at the OCEA fall drive-in being held at the Honda Heritage Center in Marysville on Friday, November 14. The agenda includes JobsOhio and talent attraction, a legal update on labor and employer hiring trends, and AI and hiring processes, including use of AI in interviewing candidates. It'll be a great day to connect with peers and employers. Register and I'll see you there!
