English Transfer Pathways

Community college students seeking a bachelor’s degree in English can follow the English Transfer Pathway approved by the statewide Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathway (OGTP) to transfer to 13 independent colleges in Ohio. Introductory English literature courses taken at the community college provide a strong foundation for students preparing for transfer as college juniors, bringing maximum credit from their associate degrees.

Step 1:

Earn your associate degree at a community college

Students may follow the English Transfer Pathway and earn their associate degree from any of these community colleges to prepare for transfer to one of the Consortium private colleges or universities:

Step 2:

Complete your bachelor’s degree from an independent college or university

Students who are earning the associate degree and English Transfer Pathway will have followed a curriculum that transfers smoothly to these independent colleges and universities. Students should meet with a transfer advisor at the college where they plan to transfer to learn about the application and admission process, to make sure they meet GPA and other requirements, and to learn about possible scholarships and financial aid.
